This week – 18-24 November is dedicated to awareness of the threat of antimicrobial resistance. Each year, World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week aims to raise awareness of global antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and promote best practices among the general public, healthcare workers and policymakers to stop the further emergence and spread of drug-resistant infections.

Self-medication, especially with prescription drugs, on prescription is dangerous. We must be cautious in the use of antibiotics because there is a danger of antibiotic resistance. Antibiotics are in danger of losing their effectiveness due to incorrect and excessive use, and in many cases they are not even necessary. Only a concerted, coordinated effort can succeed in combating antimicrobial resistance.
